The Christmas play has rapidly become a tradition. Together with all 350 students of the vocal training Nieuw Vocaal Amsterdam, Holland Baroque presents this family performance in the Amsterdam Muziekgebouw.
Discover what was sung during Christmas in the 17th century in a family performance packed with Old Dutch Christmas music. On stage are over 350 pupils aged between 4 and 21 from the Nieuw Vocaal Amsterdam vocal training programme, led by conductor Leonard Evers. Holland Baroque accompanies this festive Christmas play – a theatrical performance – with Dieuwertje Blok as narrator in the role of Mary, who looks back on these important days in her life later in life. Theatre, music and a history-making experience all in one.
