The Christmas Play has rapidly become a tradition. Together with all 350 students of the singing program Nieuw Vocaal Amsterdam, Holland Baroque presents this family performance in the Amsterdam Music Building.
Discover what was sung during Christmas in the 17th century in a family performance filled with Old Dutch Christmas music. On stage are over 300 students between the ages of 4 and 21 from the singing program Nieuw Vocaal Amsterdam, under the direction of conductor Daniel Reuss. Holland Baroque accompanies this festive Christmas Play – a theatrical performance – with Dieuwertje Blok as the narrator in the role of Maria, reflecting on these important days in her life. Theater, music, and a historical experience all in one.
