'Tegenspel' is a musical radio play based on the novel Baron by Theun de Vries, with the collaboration of Holland Baroque. The leading role, Michel Baron, is played by the 16-year-old Bauke van Boheemen and Molière is played by Mark Rietman."
In seventeenth-century Paris the young Michel Boyron (Baron) has only one goal: to become an actor in the court company of the great Molière. When his dream comes true, he must stay afloat in the inexorable world of beautiful appearance, envy and censorship. Baron is a historical coming of age story and a look at the lives of two of France's greatest theater heroes: Molière and Jean-Baptiste Lully.
The radio play will be broadcast on NPO Radio 4 and 1 by AVROTROS from 1 October 2018 (among others during the Opium program). The radio play is directed by Peter te Nuyl and the script was written by Hiekelien van den Herik. This radio play is linked to the coming music and theater show 'Molière et moi', to be seen in Dutch theaters from 14 October.
