The Edison is the oldest and most renowned music prize in the Netherlands. The nominations were determined by an independent and prominent professional jury chaired by Mischa Spel, music editor and reviewer at the NRC newspaper. After that it was up to the public to decide who would win the Edison Audience Award.
Holland Baroque, Eric Vloeimans, record label Channel Classics and Holland Baroque were very honored that the jury had nominated their CD 'Carrousel'. The massive support from the public and the wonderful prize as a result from it, greatly delight us.
Judith and Tineke Steenbrink, Artistic Team of Holland Baroque:"During the CD recording we were overwhelmed by the antique beauty of the cornetto that blends so wonderfully with the Vloeimans sound. We discovered how self-evident it sounds to blend baroque strings with celesta in a Bach coral. Little by little, it has become clear to us that walls between genres do not matter if you dare to look over them. "
