Brabant 1653

Concerts are being rescheduled / visit the livestream / February 28 at 8:00 PM

For years now, the sisters Tineke and Judith Steenbrink, artistic directors of Holland Baroque, have stood up for the music of B à Sancto Josepho.

As organist and composer, Benedictus à Sancto Josepho (1642-1716) was associated with the Carmelite monastery of Boxmeer, literally a stone's throw from Tineke and Judith's birthplace. In addition to a wealth of repertoire, their extensive research provided insight into the unprecedented rich musical culture to which he belonged. This resulted in an exquisite Christmas program (Kloosterkerst in 2020) and a magnificent new album. A beautiful prelude for the Brabant Monastic Year 2021, in which the glorious history of Brabant monastic life is celebrated by means of all kinds of activities and publications.

  • The music on the album will be performed via a free live stream on February 28 at 8:00 PM.
  • A webinar will be organized for those interested on 23 February at 19:30 PM.
